VA, OBM, Strategy or Systems: Choose Support by the Constraint

A growing business can need help and still be unclear about the right role. Starting with a job title can lead to hiring a capable person into a problem their role was not designed to solve. Start with the constraint instead.

Capacity constraint: consider VA and administration support

The work is understood, recurring and valuable, but there are not enough reliable hours to complete it consistently. Define the outcome, recurring rhythm and quality standard before delegating.

Oversight constraint: consider OBM support

The business has people and projects, but priorities, ownership and delivery are not staying connected. An OBM can create the operating rhythm, visibility and follow-through across the work.

Clarity constraint: consider strategy or a deep-dive audit

You can see several symptoms but are unsure which change should come first. Strategic review helps identify the underlying issue, rank the opportunities and create a practical roadmap.

Infrastructure constraint: consider Ivorey or GoHighLevel implementation

Manual work, disconnected tools or weak lead and client journeys are slowing the business. The system needs to be mapped around the operating need before it is built.

When the business needs a combination

A systems build may need VA capacity around it. An OBM may need specialist automation support. Strategy may need implementation. A connected team allows the right capability to be involved without asking the founder to coordinate separate providers.

Use the constraint test

Track one week of requests and classify each as capacity, oversight, clarity or infrastructure. The dominant pattern is a stronger starting point than an assumed job title.

Define the outcome before the hours

Once the constraint is clear, name the result the support should create. Hours and scope can then be shaped around a real business need rather than a general request for help.

If your business is growing but the support, ownership or systems behind it have not grown at the same pace, book a Breathe & Discover Call. We will look at the whole picture and help you identify the right starting point.
